Vince Shaughnessy was born in Alert Bay B.C. where
he lived until his family moved to Victoria B.C. in the early
1970's. He started carving in the mid '70's under George Hunt
Jr. He moved to apprentice at the Raven Art's Gallery under
Tony Hunt, John Livingston and Calvin Hunt. He moved back
to Alert Bay where he apprenticed under Wayne Alfred.
He worked on the Holland project where they
made 14 poles.
He worked on the rebuilding of the Alert Bay
big house where they carved 4 house poles and the big beams.
Vince specializes in masks.
